More cards.....

I haven't had much time since Christmas to craft, something I need to fix, but I have made a few cards!  Emily is party-tastic at the moment, and these are a couple of the cards I've made for her to give to her friends.

The Happy Birthday Stamp and the number 5 are Papermania Stamps, and they stamped beautifully using Memento Ink in Jet Black.  If you've not seen them or used them, I bought them from Hobbycraft for £2 each.  The lettering is American Craft Thickets.

Again, I've used the Papermania stamps, but I've used a nice girly colour and added some butterflies and gems to the card.  The card blanks I've used are Kraft Cards from Hobbycraft.

Card Making......

I did reasonably well in 2011 making everyone cards, rather than buying them, so I've decided to do the same again.  With that in mind, I thought I would showcase my first card of the year....

My Niece, Fleur's, birthday is on 25th January, and this is the first time I've sent her a card, so I wanted it to be a nice, if not understated card.

The supplies I've used is a Kraft card from Hobbycraft, Banana Frog Cupcake stamps (small cakes), the large Cupcake is a stamp from my new monthly kit from Cocoa Daisy, and the words are stamps I've had in my stash for a little while.  I stamped the cupcakes onto plain white card with Memento Ink in Jet black, and coloured them in using Promarkers.  I used all subtle colours like Vanilla and soft pink for the icing to give it a really girly look.

On the larger of the cupcakes, I've then used purple and glitter smooch inks to give a bit of sparkle, and I've used the glitter smooch ink on the smaller cupcakes to give some definition.

Happy Birthday Fleur!!

An easy made card

It's my friends birthday on Tuesday, and keeping with my not buying cards this year motto, I went cropping on Friday and made a card.

This card was made using Scraps of card, my Stampin Up Scallop Circle Punch, Martha Stewart Doily Punch and Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, foam pads, hot glue gun and gems from Sarah' Cards.

A close up of the layering.  I turned the butterflies so they were not facing all the same way to add some interest.

Cards.....

I started my papercrafting "career" as a card maker, and was a card maker for many years before Scrapbooking caught me.  This year I've vowed not to buy any greetings cards if I can help it, and so far so good!

Emily's Godfather's birthday was on Sunday 30th October, and here are the cards I made for him.

This card was hand stamped using my Mo Manning Simon Stamp, which can be bought from Charmed Cards & Crafts, and coloured in with my trusty Promarkers, which I love!  The October card was part of a Jenni Bowlin Calendar set, and the lettering is Sassasfras!

This is the first time I've used my Stampin Up Owl Punch and I love it!  It was very easy to do and I can see why people are addicted to making critters (watch this space, as I've bought small red pompoms for Reindeers noses)!  I've used a piece of heavyweight Kraft Cardstock, some orange patterned paper from my own stash, and a couple of lengths of Bakers Twine.  Simple, but great!

If you'd like to see more Critters using the Stampin Up Owl Punch, click on the Running with Scissors Blog link on the left of this page!  Tracey has made some fantastic Critters, which I plan to have a go at!  Thanks Tracey!!

A Magnolia Card........

I bought some stamps a few months ago, as one of resolutions for this year is to make my own cards rather than buy them.  One of the stamps I bought was a lovely Magnolia dancing Tilda!  Our friends little girl, Ruby, was 5 a couple of weeks ago, and this was perfect!  I didn't know until we arrived at Ruby's birthday party, but she had chosen a Ballerina Birthday Cake.
