The theme for the Blog Hop is “Favourite Technique”
I have a new favourite technique - painting with Gelatos, take a look!
This is the first mixed media layout I've completed at home!! I used lots of new to me products too like Glass Bead Glitter Gel, texture paste and Gesso, as well as some familiar techniques like inking with stencils and Distress Inks. I coloured the Gelatos onto my card stock, misted them with water and blended them with my finger.
Here is a close up of my stencilling, and I've also used Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops to add the circles.
I've still to master how to use gelatos well - shall give the misting with water and rubbing technique a try. Lovely page
ReplyDeleteThank you Fay. Let me know how you get on
DeleteI don't own any gelatos but I do love what you did with them

ReplyDeleteGo for it Kirsty. You don't need many to get going
DeleteThis looks fab. Something else to add to the list of things I need!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Suso! I'm going to try my Gelatos with different mediums, so watch this space
DeleteLike most people on here I've not got any Gelatos either. You have made me want to get into town now and buy some lol. Thanks for being in the hop. X.
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome Andrea, thank you for hopping! Hope you get some Gelatos
DeleteBeautiful layout, I love all the colours and textures

They are worth the investment. Start with one pack that's all you need
DeleteI have gelatos, just need to be brave and use them on a page ;)
ReplyDeleteJust go for it Tanya! You won't be disappointed!
DeleteI have to confess to having no idea what gelatos are (isn't it ice cream ;-) ) but the effect is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGelatos are paint like crayons Lis. Loads of techniques on Pinterest
DeleteThis is lovely Sam, I love how you've used lots of mixed media and made it into a cohesive whole.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen
DeleteI have gelatos but rarely use them so you have inspired me to get them out again and have a play
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Let me see what you do!
DeleteVery vibrant layout. No idea about Gelatos, like the lady above I thought it was ice cream...lol. I've only tried mists for the first time today. So lots of new experiences to try.
ReplyDeleteThey are well worth a go
DeleteI've not done much mixed media on my layouts but I think I should try. Yours looks fabulous xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle. I'm a newbie to mixed media too
DeleteI have never tried mixed media, think its my next step!
ReplyDeleteGo for it Georgia!
Deletenot so sure about this one, i like the stencils though
ReplyDeleteIt's not for everyone! I wasn't sure about the stencil. It's a Tim Holtz one!
DeleteI don't have any gelatos but I love how you have used them 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you Ruth
DeleteSuper mixed media page in such a vibrant pink too. I've never used Gelatos but they look great. BJ
ReplyDeleteThank you BJ
DeleteLovely LO, wonderful colours. Looks like you and gelato are going to last!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julia
DeleteLovely pink layout :) I LOVE gelatos and glass bead glitter gel, also love that scribble stencil - what is it? Fab layout xx
ReplyDeleteHey Niki! I caught the bug from you for Gelatos. The stencils I've used are Tim Holtz
DeleteFabulous mixed media. I'm trying to expand my mixed media stash and am considering Gellatos. Thank you for an interesting insight!!
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteOoh - I have gelatos but glass bead glitter gel is new to me! Will have to check it out. Great layout!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alison. The glass bead glitter gel is lovely, it has tiny glass beads in it to give the layout texture. Glitter modge podge will give the same effect
DeleteI love all the texture on the background. I've yet to try gelatos, I got a couple with a magazine freebie but have been too scared to try them! X
ReplyDeleteJust go for it Jess, you can't go wrong!
DeleteI love using my Gelatos for backgrounds, such different effects each time. TO A. X
ReplyDeleteMe too Kerry
DeleteFantastic effect
ReplyDeleteThank you Kirsty
DeleteLurve Gelatos - like the way they blend and great with mixed media/ texture backgrounds
ReplyDeleteLove the pink and aqua colour combo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bright pink layout!
ReplyDeleteReally must get my gelatos out again, Lovely LO like the effect with the texture paste.
ReplyDeleteI'm familiar with Gelatos, but not the Crystal Drops... I love the circles you've created with them!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of gelatos, though they are a product I've resisted so far. I have the crystal drops, but have only made dots with them so far; your circles have inspired me to get more creative with them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it before! I'm too scared of messing it up and ruining a layout!
ReplyDeleteLove the gelatos 😍I've never used texture paste or gelatos before. I'll need to add them to my shopping list!
