I can't believe that Emily is a few days away from finishing her very first year in Primary school.... which means it's that time of year again. Yep, teachers presents!! I always like to make something for the teachers, as it's more personal, you've put some thought into the present. So this is what I started with....
Paperchase is a fabulous place for Scrappers to go! I bought 4 Kraft Boxes (£1.75 each) and 2 Kraft notebooks (£2.25 each) The boxes had lovely purple elastic bands around them, but I've not used them. The boxes of course will hold chocolates, but I wanted to decorate them first.
And this is how I've decorated them. I've made all of this using scraps of paper from my stash. I used my Martha Stewart Doily Punch to make a "ribbon" to go around the lid of the boxes. The ribbon does go all the way around the lid, and I've die cut a label using my Big Shot so that Emily could write a message on it and I've stuck the labels inside the lid to hide the ribbon join.
The flowers have been die cut using my Stampin Up Blossom Party Die, and the centres have been covered in glossy accents to give them a bit of shine. I've then used my Stampin Up Embosslit to cut out the butterfly, and my labels nesties for the label. The sentiment is stamped using my Stampin Up tea cup stamps.
The notebooks I wanted to keep very girly, but I wanted to keep them a bit simpler, mainly because I hope they are going to be put in a bag and used!!
I've painted the covers using Dylusions Cerise paint, and I deliberately kept the paint very thin, so you can still see the Kraft covers. The bands around the covers is Paperchase Paper tape in different colours. The note oval is stamped using July's exclusive stamp from Cocoa Daisy, the flower is a Prima Marketing piece and the pins are from my stash! Even though the notebooks are very simple, they are very girly and I hope a much used item.
Now, what to make the teachers for Christmas..........
Thanks for stopping by!

They are wonderful and I agree with you about the personal touch. I've made fruit cakes and a pretty tag. Just one more cake to wrap!
