My friend, Louise of Scrapbook Me, held her first all day crop of 2012 on Saturday 16th June, and as always, she had some great challenges.
The first one was to make a card using a Kraft Card Blank, a piece of Atlas Paper, a length of bakers twine, a stamp out of a camera and a die cut heart. Somehow or another, I've not photographed this, so I will put up another photo later on.
The second challenge was a flap layout. Click on the link above to see Louise's beautiful layout, but my, fairly basic one, is below!
This layout is using my June kit from Cocoa Daisy, and captures the fact that Emily loves Craig to swing her around, and my merriment at not knowing who enjoys it more, Craig or Emily!
This is one of my basic flaps. The flap holds 2 photo's and part of my journalling. I made a basic card shape out of card stock, then used my Stampin Up punch to make the tab.
I have two of these paper circles on my layout, and I've made these using Rebekah Day's instructions in this month's copy of Scrap 365 Magazine. I cut a strip of paper 1cm wide and distressed each long edge with my craft knife. I've then cut the strip up into 2cm pieces, folded it over and glued the edges, then attached each piece of paper to the layout using strong glue!
Making the little paper pieces was fiddly, but well worth the effort. I will use this technique again on future layouts.
Thanks for stopping by!

Your layout is lovely Sam, thanks for completing both the challenges x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lou! I do want to try another one of these flap layouts though! The challenges were great, and I always enjoy them! Perhaps we could have a class challenge one time????? :-)
DeleteHi Sam, love your page the photo flap is great and a fab way to include more photos. The paper pleating looks great too.
ReplyDeleteWill be back to see your MCS kit pages :)

Thanks Rachael! My first June MCS layout will be up on Tuesday! Don't laugh at my first attempt at cutting out the flowers from my card stock and layering them. I have directed people to your blog to see the expert at work, LOL!!!
