He's just my Sk8ter Boy!

Being 13, I rarely get photo's of James now, so it was a treat to be able to take these photo's.  Not only are they of James, but they are totally natural!

When we were in Cornwall, we bought James a longboard as he was doing well at school, and he couldn't wait to try it out!  The hotel in Somerset where we stayed on the way home was perfect for the first try!  The hotel had a car park that went full circle all the way around it, perfect!!!

I'd seen a layout recently where the photographs were layered over one another, so I thought I would give this ago!  My Cocoa Daisy kit had a fantastic bullseye stamp it, that I couldn't wait to try out, along with my new Prima Marketing chalk inks!  I stamped the bullseye down the side of the layout to give a bit of interest to the fairly plain background paper, then matted the photo's on blue Bazzil Cardstock.  I used the Crate Paper chipboard elements to embellish, but I didn't want the journalling to detract from the photo's.  In my kit, I had some K & Co Smash Pockets, so I used these to hold my journalling, but also as a canvas for my title.  I think it worked rather well....!

The paper I used was Crate Paper, Paper Heart Collection - Romance.  Just to prove you can use romance paper for a boy!!!

Here is a close up of the Smash Pocket that holds my journalling and my title.  The 8 instead of the a adds a bit of interest to the layout.

Thanks for stopping by!
