Journal Your Christmas 2011.... the first three days!

Journal Your Christmas has become a tradition, and this year I was organised and had everything a week or so before JYC started.  I've completed my front over and the first three day pages, which is great, as I'm normally behind!  My papers and matching embellishments this year are Fancy Pants St Nick.

A picture of my full Album.  As I was unsure as to what my album is going to end up looking like, I wanted to keep the outside simple.

I've used a Fancy Pants transparency that I found in my stash.  Last year, I painted some Maya Road chipboard snowflakes in Silver, and I've used American Crafts thickets for the title.

Page 1 of my Journal.  I just wanted to note down what I wanted to record this year and why.  Ultimately, this journal for me is journalling all about what happens in the busiest time of the year for us, what our traditions are so that they are passed down to James and Emily.  I've embossed some snowflakes onto a Kraft tag, which is really effective.

To mount the number pennant, I've used a Maya Road corrugated frame and another Maya Road snowflake.

Page 2 of my journal is all about the weather!  I cut a 6 x 6 Kraft page and inked the edges with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  I then used Ranger metallic Perfect Pearls for the snowflakes.  I love the effect this gave.  The temperature is put on the lower right hand snowflake in a gold number.

I love how clear the snowflakes come out, and the colours add to the vintage feel of this page.  The Perfect Pearl Colours are Bronze, Gold and Copper.

Page 3 is all about Christmas Cards!  Christmas Cards are one of my favourite things about Christmas, I love picking our cards to give to people and receiving them.  This year, I wanted to record that I'd hand made our Christmas Cards this year, the first time even though I've been promising myself for years I'd made them.

The challenge was to add Stamps as an embellishment and postmarks.  Luckily, I had a couple of stamps in my stash, which I've mounted on Postage Stamp Punch outs.

I will go away from Shimelle's prompts on day 4, as today is James's 13th Birthday, so that has to be recorded.
