Vintage Chic Layout...

Good to see you all again, hope you are all OK!

So the layout that I'm showing today has a bit of a story.  My Nephew, Gareth, and Niece, Taniele, get married next year, and I decided fairly early on that I wanted a vintage style dress.  I've been looking online and found a few, but nothing that really grabbed me.

We go to the RIAT Air Show every year, and Craig reminded me that they have a vintage tent, which is great and full of lovely goodies.  I found one dress I liked on one stall in the Vintage Tent, but then I walked up to another stand, and I saw this……

I stood in front of this dress on the mannequin with my mouth wide open, with a resounding "that's the one" ringing in my ears from Craig!  Craig encouraged me to try it on and I fell in love with it immediately.  It had to look good on me, as even James commented on how nice it looked and that I should buy it (really, a 16 year old who doesn't normally comment on anything said I looked nice!!).

I haven't bought the wide belt for my dress, I've bought a little thin belt with a bow on the front which looks equally as nice, and I've got a red net petticoat to go under it so it stands out like the 1950's dresses used to.  Thanks to Frocks in Swing Time, which is the company I bought my dress from.  The next 7 months are going to be used finding the perfect shoes, cardigan and either a fascinator or a hat to go with my perfect dress.

This is the first dress that I've really fell in love with, and is a completely different style for me, so I had to scrapbook it.  I kept the layout fairly simple because the colours of my card stock are quite strong, but I think they enhance the picture of my dress perfectly.  I will get Craig to take a photo of me in this dress next May, and I will scrapbook it, so please watch this space.
