July's Card Class - Latch Card

My third card from July's Card Class was my technique card, and we made a latch card.  This card looks complicated, but really isn't.  Have a look…..

This is what my latch card looks like when it's open, you can just see the part that makes the latch when it's open.  One of my ladies wanted to use the new Celebrate Today stamps, so I designed a card that can be given to a male or a female.  I've used one of my favourite colours, Island Indigo, which I hadn't used for a little while.

When the card is standing open, the latch just looks like part of the decoration on the inside.  I've used an antique brad on my latch on this card.

This is my card closed.  I wanted people to think that the latch was actually part of another balloon.  I've also stuck the circles of latch slightly off centre, and I've done the same with the brad.

Where the latch is attached to the card with Brads, there are 5 lines scored into the back of the card, so that you can bend the latch back to open the card.  Like I said, very simple, but effective!
