Are you ready for Mother's Day?

Hey there, good to see you again!  Mother's Day is on the 15th March, and I wanted to get a card and box prepared well ahead of time.  I wanted to do something co-ordinating, a bit different, but not too hard.  See what you think….

This is my Mother's Day set for this year.  The card is so easy to make (see further down this post), and fits into a Stampin' Up! envelope.  My mum is a crafter too, so I might buy her something small and crafty to go in the box rather than chocolates.

The box is made using the Gift Box Punch Board. You can make boxes using the Envelope Punch Board, but as I normally have limited time to craft, I like the fact that I have both boards.  The box was made using Kraft Card stock, which I love!  To decorate my box, I've just added a band and a bow using the new Builder Bow Punch.

I've been seeing these screen cards on Pinterest and I've wanted to make one for ages, so I decided to make one to go with my box.  The card stock colours match that of the Designer Series Paper on my box so it all ties in.  Again, I wanted to keep this card really simple, so not to detract from the styling.

How do you make a screen card?  Easy!

Cut a piece of card stock to measure 11" x 6".  Score on the long side at 2 3/4", 51/2" and 81/4".
Fold the scores alternative ways to make the screen effect (this will give you 4 panels, I had to cut one off)
I've then used a Scallop Border Punch to decorate the top, and the Modern Label Punch to make the legs.
