Exploding Box...

I have been working on some Scrapbook layouts, but I thought I would share my first attempt at an exploding box, something I've been wanting to make for a while and never gotten around to it.

I have over 40 photographs of Emily on her Barbie Surf Board from when we were on holiday, so what better way to scrap some of them!

I've used Stampin' Up! paper from the Brights Collection, which go together lovely!  The papers are double sided, so I've used the off-cuts, on the opposite side, to decorate the outside of my box.

I've used my Stampin' Score Board to make these lovely rosettes!  You can buy dies to make these, but they are really easy.   For the largest rosette, cut a piece of paper one and a half inches wide by twelve inches long, and for the smaller rosette, cut a piece of paper one inch wide by twelve inches long.  Use the inch score board and score every other line.  Concertina the paper up and glue the ends together.  Cut two circles of contrasting paper to secure the rosette flat.  Gather one end of the concertina circle together and push down to form the rosette, and secure with the two circles of paper.

This is my exploding box when it's opened.  The box gives a good amount of surfaces for you to attach your photo's and to journal on.

To decorate the rosette on the inside of the box and on the top of the boxes, I've used Itty Bitty Buttons, and used an Itty Bitty Punch to cut out paper to go behind the buttons.

I loved making this box, and I'm sure a few more are going to appear on my blog!  If you want to know more about how I made this box and the stash used, please e mail me by clicking here

Thanks for stopping by....!
