For the last two years for the Easter Holiday we've travelled up to Lanark Mill in Scotland for a few days to have an Easter break. Last years break was a far cry from this year!! Last year, we had heat and sun, unlike this year when we had rain, sleet, snow, hail and heavy winds! I wanted to do a nice spring layout for a picture I look last year at Edinburgh Castle.
The paper I've used as a base is We R Memory Keepers Anthologie Tete a tete. I loved the colour of the paper and the fact that it matched the stone of the sentry box that James and Emily were standing in.
I've used Prima Marketing Sun Kiss Collection Sun Dried paper to matt the photo, and to try my hand at cutting out flowers from patterned paper, something I don't do! This was my first attempt, which I'm relatively pleased with. If you'd really like to see an expert at this, click here to go to Rachael Elliott's blog, her layouts are very layered and gorgeous!!
This was much more in my comfort zone! I pleated the lace and attached to my layout using my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, then used the various Prima Flowers and chipboard to finish off around the bottom of photo.
I really enjoyed my first attempt at cutting out flowers from a piece of patterned paper and layering, something I'm going to try again! If you have any tips on this, please leave me a comment and let me know, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks for stopping by!

I love the effect of the cut out flowers but don't have the patience myself.
