My first blog challenge - shapes

Shapes are all the rage at the moment, especially Hexagons!  They are stunning and look really good on a layout!

I received a Hexagon stamp in my April Cocoa Daisy Kit, and fell in love with it straight away.  Here is the layout I completed.

This is a photo that I took when we went to Scotland a few weeks ago as we went over the mountains.  A complete whiteout, with just a hint of blue and yellow in the sky.  Perfect for these papers.

The techniques used were very simple!  I strayed black spray ink over the card stock, stamped the 2 hexagon stamps on patterned paper and cut them out and arranged them on the card stock.  As the card stock was printed down one site, I used my butterfly punch to punch out some butterflies.

Materials used:

Follow your Heart papers by Rhonna Farrer - Be Amazing and lettering.  Yellow bazzil basics card stock, Coco Daisy hexagon stamps, Martha Stewart Doily Punch and Butterfly Punch and Mr Huey's spray ink in Atmosphere.

A close up of the hexagons and butterflies.

I mentioned in the title that this was my first blog challenge!  Here's the challenge, it's simple - make a layout using shapes, it doesn't have to be hexagons, link your layout to this post (please link to your post, not your home page) by Wednesday 9th May.  There may be a small prize on offer!!

Thanks for stopping by!
