Emily @ 9 Layout

Hey there, good to see you again!  I love completing a layout of Emily on her birthday every year, so today I'm showing you this years layout.  I want to capture how much Emily is growing each year, and this is a fantastic way.  Emily, in my opinion, is growing up way to fast for my liking, she's 9 going on 16!

This layout inspiration was courtesy of Scrapbook.com.  I love the grungy feel to it, and all the squares dotted around.  I could have gone a lot madder with the stamping and the squares, but love the balance I've achieved.

Here you can see the elements a little bit closer.  I inked around the squares, which makes the card stock stand out, but it's normally something I forget to do.

My photo also started out life as a 6 x 4".  For me, cutting down 6x4" photo's works well, and cuts down on paying for expensive bespoke prints.  You can also choose what to focus on.  In this photo, I cut out a lot of the background and just focussed in on Emily's face.

I wonder what Emily's next birthday will bring!
